NCTMB Nationally Certified Continuing EducationThe Methuselah Center will be offering classes that will be awarding CEU’s recognized by NCBTMB. The class offered is Body Assessment Level I through IV.

The class teaches what the body’s position in space can tell you. Use your eyes to truly understand where the body pain is coming from so you can treat the cause and not just the symptom. You will not only learn how to see the position, but also to determine which muscles are being utilized. This class is a “must” for anyone doing clinical/ medical massage or any kind of structural body work. Prerequisite: None.; CEU’s: 8.

These programs prepares students to work with clients who suffer from specific pain and dysfunction resulting from disorders such as chronic low back pain, migraine headaches, carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica pain, thoracic outlet and other specific medical conditions. Students will learn to apply various body work modalities to specific functional and structural pathologies of the body.

Learning Outcomes

  • The student will be able to identify the anatomical structure of the body.
  • The student will be able to discuss the physiology of the musculature.
  • The student will be aware of the terminology as it applies to the anatomy, physiology of the musculature of the body.
  • The student will be able to identify the types of massage strokes and application.
  • The student will be able to identify the specific pathologies, musculature dysfunction and postural misalignment.
  • The student will be able to examine of the alignment of the subject while standing, sitting and lying down and identify postural misalignment.
  • The student will be able to apply the information gathered during the assessment phase to construct a correction program.
  • The student will be able to demonstrate a corrective massage session.
